Alexander di Vasos was born in Kinshasa, DR Congo and is of German-Greek origin.
His work is a map-cartography of the signs and the traces of events; signs and traces who can appear just before as well as just after the event.
The material he works with is liquid silicon. He applies the silicon onto canvasses using a hot-melt gun, creating a net of dense lines and forms, which recite their own stories.
Di Vasos graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Athens, Greece, where he had studied painting, sculpture and pedagogical. Before he studied graphic design on the Technological Institute of Athens. Since 2004 he has exhibited his works in China, Germany, Greece and Spain.
Alexander di Vasos currently lives in Berlin. Private collections: Museum of Contemporary Greek Art, Vorres, Federal Ministry of Finance and private collectors.
